KANZAWA MEDICAL RESEARCH FOUNDATION
2014 (18th) Research Grant Application Requirements

 1. Intent of Grant
   This foundation is intended to encourage studies from various angles of causes, prevention,
   diagnoses, therapies, etc. of various diseases occurred in women at reproductive age with focus on
   period and elderly/senile women, and develop medical care and medicine, thereby
   contributing to the enhancement of health and welfare of the people of Japan.
   
 2. Scope of Grant
   Young researchers (aged younger than 41 years as of April 1, 2014, or whose date of birth is April
   2, 1973 or thereafter) in Japan studying basics or clinical researches on the following therapeutic areas:
   (1) Studies on causes, prevention, diagnoses, therapies, etc. of various diseases occurred in
     women at reproductive age
   (2) Studies on causes, prevention, diagnoses, therapies, etc. of various diseases occurred in
     women along with aging
 
 3. Amount of Research Grant     Total: 15 million yen, 1 million yen per study
 
 4. Expenses Subject to Payment of Research Grant
   They shall be those expenses for purchase of articles required for the study and other expenses
   incurred for study advancement.
 
 5. Application Method
   Fill out the designated application form and submit it to the foundation together with sending that
   file by e-mail.
   The application form is available from the website of this foundation (word) or at the request to
   the foundation by e-mail or fax.
 6. Recommender
   (1) The recommender should be the dean of the graduate school faculty or the undergraduate
     school or the head of the research institute in the case of a university, the principal in the
     case of a college or the representative person in other research institutes.
   (2) The recommender should be the chief professor of obstetric or gynecological class (seminar),
     except for the classes of which classmate have received a research grant from the foundation
     in 2013.
   (3) The recommender should be the director or councilor of the foundation.
  
 7. Number of Candidates to be Recommended
   One recommender is able to recommend only one candidate.
 
 8. Deadline
   Application forms with the date of stamp on or before Tuesday, September 30, 2014 are effective.
 
 9. Selection Method
   The selection committee makes selection and final decisions are made by the board of directors.
 
10. Notification of Decision
   Applicants and recommenders will be notified in writing in December, 2014.
 
11. Payment of Research Grant
   The research grant will be presented no later than March 31, 2015.
 
12. Result Reporting
   (1) The study results should be compiled in the foundation research result report and sent to the
     foundation no later than March 31, 2016. Furthermore, the applicant should make
     presentation at a lecture meeting sponsored by the foundation in 2016.
   (2) The research result report will be included in the database of private assisted research result
     outlines of the National Institute of Informatics.
   (3) In presenting the study to any other sources, add a description to the effect that the study was
     “subsidized by Kanzawa Medical Research Foundation”, and if the study is published in any
     paper, a separate volume should be sent to the foundation.
 
13. Restrictions
   (1) The persons who have received a research grant or an overseas study grant from the
     foundation in 2011, 2012 or 2013.
   (2) The persons belonging to the same class as persons who have received a research grant from
     the foundation in 2013 are not entitled to make application.
